Our purpose

To stabilise immediate risk, preserve dignity and relationships, and provide high-quality observations that help the placing authority make the next decision with confidence.

01

Stabilise

Predictable routines, clear boundaries and responsive 2:1 support.

02

Understand

Factual observations of strengths, needs, presentation and triggers.

03

Transition

A coordinated move towards the most suitable registered placement.

Our remit: short-term, non-care support. We do not provide registered care or clinical diagnosis. Placements are accepted only where needs fall within the lawful scope of the service.

Aim & ethos

A safe, respectful place to regain stability

Derby Bridge offers a time-limited, activity-based assessment placement while statutory partners secure the right longer-term registered setting. From a modest three-bedroom home in Huyton, Liverpool, we provide a calm and predictable environment that feels homely, child-centred and purposeful.

Safety first

Safeguarding, welfare and community safety shape every decision, boundary and response.

Dignity & voice

Children are listened to, treated with respect and involved in goals and everyday choices.

Purposeful support

Healthy routines, positive relationships and meaningful activity help restore momentum and hope.

Clearer decisions

Factual observations and timely records give placing authorities better evidence for next-step planning.

Why the 2:1 model matters

Close staffing creates the conditions for safety, relational consistency and responsive support during a period of uncertainty.

2:1

Responsive staffing

Close supervision without losing sight of dignity, choice or independence.

Stability through relationships

Consistent adults, shared expectations and calm responses help reduce uncertainty. Staff are available to notice changing presentation, intervene early, support emotional regulation and create the continuity needed for purposeful assessment.
